The Pressey House is an octagonal shaped house with an ell and an attached barn. It was built in the 1850's and is on the National Registry of Historic Places. The property slopes down to Lake Messalonskee, one of the Belgrade Lakes. Enjoy the kayaks, canoe, paddle boat or the docks. You can do a little fishing, go swimming, or just relax in an Adirondack chair down by the lake.
The Pressey House has five suites - the BALCONY, the GRANITE, the ELL, the LOFT, and the TERRACE. The suites are unique in that all of them have private bathrooms, and most have a kitchen area. The kitchens each have a stove, refrigerator and sink. All suites offer wireless internet service for our guests. Feel free to stay for a night, a weekend, a week, or longer. During the OFF-SEASON, we offer special rates for long-term rentals.
On the lower level of the barn, with an ground-level entrance, is the 900 sq. foot TERRACE suite. The main bedroom has a King bed while the second bedroom has two twin beds to accommodate the family. On the same level as the bedrooms, is a bathroom and the kitchen. A few steps down from the kitchen is the living room with a fireplace and double doors opening onto its own terrace close to the water.
On the upper level of the barn is the 800 sq. foot LOFT occupying two levels. The living room has a large picture window with a wonderful view of the lake! There is a a full size sleeper sofa in the living room and the kitchen area and bathroom are also on this level. Upstairs in the open loft is a king sized bed with a bay window.
The ELL is on the second floor between the octagon and the barn. Its unique living room and kitchen face out onto a small balcony overlooking the lake. Up a couple of stairs is the bedroom with a queen size bed and bathroom. The suite also has a single sleeper sofa.
Down around the backside of the octagon facing the lake is the entrance to the WINE CELLAR. This cozy suite has a fireplace in the living room where the outside walls of the suite are exposed granite and the inside walls are brick. A double bed and queen sleeper sofa completes the setting.
